To follow-up after a⁤ few months of use.Nothing ⁢short of⁤ amazed. It reports⁤ vehicle speed, even if vehicle⁤ is cornered too hard, location down to 20ft accuracy, even opening a trunk sends a motion alert⁤ to my cell when car is parked. It ⁣even alerted every time it‌ loses a GPS ⁤signal from driving in a tunnel (or someone loading your ‌$100k car⁢ into a metal box trailer!!).‌ The units performs 100% same as day 1!!. ⁢Would Definitely buy again. After ⁣carefully weighing pros and cons of several GPS trackers (ex. Amazon reviews, buy cost, monthly fees, ease of setup and install, removable or hidden, features such as impact/ acceleration/ deceleration /ignition on/off/parked notification), lifetime warranty!!!) I narrowed it ⁣down to Optimus and another similar well rated unit on Amazon. After reading⁤ several pages reviews for both units.. it seemed the Optimus device, tho had more features⁤ I was looking for, had a few reviews about accuracy, and units that died‌ very fast or discharged or ruined vehicle charging system???.I started to ⁢get the impression the reviews were false or intentionally negative from a competitor. Being a retired aerospace engineer and‌ auto ‍enthusiast, I know its not even remotely possible ‍for a GPS tracker that only draws 100 milli amps. (CAR BATTERIES ARE 400-700AMPS, ALTERNATORS ARE⁤ 100-200AMPS APROX). So‌ there is⁤ no way that these tiny devices could damage a vehicle system in any way.Even if a⁣ wire was to directly short out, simply it would just blow a fuse!!. Also ⁣it didn’t make sense since Optimus claimed to ⁢have many commercial fleets using their⁢ product. UPS,FedEx,etc. can’t‌ have malfunctioning GPS systems for their fleet, it wouldn’t happen for long,⁢ and Optimus would be out of business by offering a lifetime guarantee if their products died⁤ quickly!!. So I called to ask customer ⁤service at both of the companies I was considering.⁣ 1 did ⁣not take ‌calls/ redirected me ⁣to send an email ‌requesting support and wait for a call‍ back. I don’t have that sort of time or patience (very common now in a c19 world).. ‍the⁤ other ⁢company⁤ (Optimus), not only answered every call, took calls‍ up to 10pm EST at night on 3 different‍ occasions, were‌ friendly⁣ / helpful ⁤/ ‌knowledgeable,, but even went to discuss implementing a⁢ custom software modification with their engineer, so my devices sensors could also detect light ⁣impacts/ tampering‍ while ⁢parked. I was ⁢surprised they accommodated my request and took all of 10min to remotely‍ update my devices software from another state, thru the ⁣air with ‍a cell signal!!! The⁤ photo I posted⁢ is⁤ my⁢ Optimus GV75⁣ built in device ‍being updated and tested prior to install on ⁣my very cluttered work bench,, to verify the sensitivity of the tamper sensor modifications,, making sure‍ they were in ‍the ballpark. Worked as ⁣requested 1st time ⁣out!!. Soon as unit was powered up, after the simple 1 minute⁢ app ⁢download and 2 minute registration ⁢process on the Optimus‌ website,‌ it ⁢instantly pinged ⁢my cell with emails and texts from my GV75 device with alerts for being powered on and updating with its⁣ location.. and ‌this was inside my metal roof garage where no one can even talk on ‌a cell phone without dropping a call!!. But being skeptical still after the ⁣negative reviews I’d read, I ‌continued testing ⁤it⁤ for approx 2 more hours and shook it a dozen more times ⁣to verify the sensitivity functions alert me the way‌ I wanted.⁢ I ⁤noticed‌ accuracy is⁤ good down to about 50ft,, which‌ later Optimus support explained was only that far off due‍ to the metal ⁤roof preventing ⁤some satellites from communicating ⁤to giving the ⁤exact location.I was ⁣extremely impressed and plan to purchase⁣ more of⁢ the ⁤OBD2 plug in ⁣versions for family members ⁣that aren’t able to hardwire theirs in. I don’t write reviews frequently enough but felt this product ‍needed a clearer more detailed review. with ⁢the slight modification to ‌the ⁤Optimus device, it ⁤now not only is a GPS locator/tracker‍ and speed⁣ sensor, but a security ⁢device with‌ built in‌ battery back up to alert ⁤me ⁢if ignition is turned on, vehicle power is disconnected, or vehicle⁤ is impacted or being tampered with while parked!!! No other GPS tracker has these features (non that ‌I‍ could find at least), came‍ with lifetime⁢ replacement warranty,‍ fantastic‌ customer service ‍day or night, and your own engineer to customize your⁤ device⁤ in the blink of an ‍eye (the⁤ last benefit I’m sure will ‍have its limitations, lol)!!! I’m sold on their product ⁣and wouldn’t ⁣be ⁢surprised to see ‌this company expand in this⁣ field from the A++‍ support I experienced.⁣ I’m not‍ affiliated with the company and was not compensated for ‌my review in any way.. Hope the review helps. ⁢

This installed ‌very easy. The program associated⁤ with it is good with the exception of the ⁤geofence. ⁢My bikes pop around all ‍the‌ time. ‍Meaning, ⁤if it is sitting still ⁢it may be in the ‍neighbors yard. When I talked ‌to the company‍ they said I needed the geofence ‍needed to be ‌bigger. I gave ⁢them control over making it for me. What they made IMO was just absurd. I actually do not⁣ use the geofence now. Other than that, I know where my bikes are at all times and ‌can track them very easily. It⁤ is a good product.⁤

This is the second GPS tracker that I have⁢ tried and⁣ this one is the best ⁤so far! The good: ease of installation, competitive price⁣ point, good reception / coverage, the ‍app interface is easy and intuitive, does not draw a⁢ lot of battery power. The bad: if you have the geo-fences set too tight‌ the wandering⁣ resolution⁢ of the GPS will send a lot of false alarms, and the reception inside a steel barn or⁣ even a⁣ residential ⁣garage is problematic. I get 1-2 “signal lost” messages per ‍day when ⁤it is ⁤indeed inside.Granted,‍ it is installed out of sight under the‍ vehicle, so some of that is ⁣on me. Overall ‌this is ‍a great device to add some piece of mind ⁤my old classic vehicle⁣ that doesn’t have door locks or ‌any theft protection. It has‌ a motion detector that ⁢sends ⁣me a text message if someone even leans on the⁤ door to⁢ look inside. The GPS feature notifies⁣ me when it⁤ leaves⁢ my⁣ property, and can be ‘pinged’ to check on its⁤ location at any time. The geo-fence can be adjusted to your location‌ when you get where you are going ⁣also, but honestly‌ that seems like a little too much work for me unless I was parking it overnight somewhere sketchy. The app has ‌a battery monitor as well,so it will notify ⁢you if‌ the voltage is⁢ getting too low as it sits between uses.
